| Hey everyone... most of you know I am now the marketing director for a real estate company up here in Colorado Springs. If you didn't know, you should pay better attention. Anyway, I'm trying to answer a few questions and I'm hoping you can help me. Please post your answers here or send me an email (brandon.lilly[at]gmail[dot]com).
Please be totally honest with your answers regardless of if they are good bad or ugly. Even if you have no or limited experience, please describe your perception. 1. When you think of a Realtor what is the first thought that comes to mind? 2. What do you think it the hardest part of finding/buying a home? 3. When (if) you are searching for homes, what do you look for on the website? 4. What medium do you use to search for homes? 5. what is the easiest part of finding/buying a home? 6. what is stopping you from buying a house right now? (or if you already own a house, why did you buy?) 7. do you think that Realtors have your best interest at heart? why or why not? 8. What do you look for when interviewing a Realtor? 9. if you could 'fix' the real estate industry, what would you do and how would you do it? 10. How do you want to be treated by a real estate company? I'm hoping to have a pretty good amount of answers by tomorrow morning. Feel free to ask your friends to fill this out too. Thanks! You guys are really helping me out! |

| So I got bored a while back and decided to swing back by Xanga to see what's been happening. Unfortunately, it seems like 'not much' is the answer of the day.
It's sad to see but with the explosive growth of Facebook (www.facebook.com/BrandonLilly) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/BrandonLilly), Xanga has been left in the dust. It's sad to see that but it's a pretty prime example of a good idea that just isn't keeping up with the needs of it's target audience.
Regardless, I thought I owed the Xanga community a quick update. Most of you know this because we're friends on Facebook (and if we're not we should be) but if you don't, here goes -
As of August 8th Jen and I will be moving to Colorado Springs, CO. Nick Wood will be coming with us, along with my AA from Teen Mania, Victoria, and Jen's best friend Valerie Plamer.

Yeah, I know. It's a lot to take in. If you have questions, you should find me on Facebook or Twitter so I can fill you in on all the awesome details!
See ya!

| I had forgotten just how beautiful the US could be…
After living in Texas since 2003, you sometimes forget that things can look nice. Grass can be green (and you can walk on it!), it doesn’t have to be scorching outside, and a city can exude history and elegance.
I’ve been to all 48 continental US states and this is my first time to Washington, DC. Well, it’s airport anyway. I’m waiting on my connecting flight to Pittsburgh as we speak (er, type).
While the Eastern United States holds great history, wonderful stories and a beautiful landscape, after sitting in this terminal for 30 minutes I’ve realized a few contrasts between here and Texas.
In Texas, people are friendly. I’ve seen no more than 3 fights/arguments in this one terminal. “I got here first”, “You simply must…”, “If you don’t…”. I’ve also heard more than 25 people get paged for being late. When was the last time you heard that in D/FW? Texans may not care much for timekeeping, but they usually err on the side of ‘wicked early’.
Planes disgorging tanned women with extremely obvious body augmentations and a significant lack of clothing (although the items they do wear are quite expensive and very stylish), Italian tourists asking for help and directions, Italian ‘businessmen’ being followed by airport security…
Yes. DC is much more exciting to look at on the surface, but once you watch for too long you begin to see the dark undertones of a city that, while full of history, doesn’t understand it’s heritage.
Unfortunately, those of us in the Bible Belt(Buckle), are not immune. When parents are in a bad marriage, kids have a bad childhood – and grow up to be just like their parents. While DC is no Hollywood, Vegas or New York City, they create influence and culture that has a reach far beyond whether our kids will dress to impress or simply dress for sex. No, DC is the hub of all culture creators for the US and the world beyond.
With the Government able to decide how far I can drive my car, what my tax money is spent on, if I can or cannot say “God” in my school, and if churches propagate ‘hate crimes’ by being unsupportive of gay rights, something needs to change. The ‘reset’ button needs to be pressed – by Jesus Christ. What needs to happen in our government and our country can only be accomplished by an overhaul of standard human wants, needs and emotions. With Christ at the wheel, that’s Change you can believe in…

| I'm so bad at this Xanga thing now... it seems like I never have time for it anymore. Lol.
I just got moved to a new position here at Teen Mania. We've been taking strides towards bringing all of Teen Mania's marketing departments under one roof and it's pretty much happened. I've been placed in the role of Marketing Coordinator (which is basically the production/project manager). I manage the marketing production calendars for the ministry. Fun so far... we'll see how it goes as we get further in to it. I'm certainly excited about this new position!
